Paul McCARL - Stone Sculptures
Rough Agates on display.
Agates are found in a variety of locations but I collect most of mine after they have been washed along the bottom of the Fraser River during which time they have been at least partially polished naturally by good old Mother Nature. Agates are very hard and difficult to cut or shape but with the aid of high speed diamond tools and bits, they make beautiful gem quality stones and exquisite one of a kind gifts. I have cut holes in some agates to hang on necklaces or bracelets and have on occasion had gold clasps attached for very special pieces of jewelry.

Rough Agates on display.
What better way to remember a once in a lifetime experience, than to walk along the river, find a beautiful stone and then return it to your home and either placed in a jewelry box as is or have it turned into a treasured necklace or pendant. A simple pendant can be created with the drilling of a small hole, or the agate can be sliced to create a specific shape, cut to highlight the clarity and design or the piece can be encased in a jewelry clasp to be hung on a chain. Let me help you to create your own jewelry. |
